David Raya’s remarkable run continued as Arsenal equalled a 122-year-old club record with their eighth consecutive clean sheet in all competitions following a 3-0 win at Slavia Prague.
Though barely tested, Raya showed his trademark focus — even sprinting to consult goalkeeping coach Iñaki Caña before a late penalty that was eventually overturned by VAR. Arsenal have now gone 12 hours and 56 minutes without conceding, matching a defensive record that dates back to 1903.
Since joining from Brentford in 2023, the Spaniard has kept 50 clean sheets in 110 appearances and boasts the Premier League’s best save rate (84.2%) this season.
“You never know when a chance will come, so I have to stay alert for 90 or 100 minutes,” said Raya.
Manager Mikel Arteta praised his keeper’s anticipation and professionalism, while data shows Raya’s proactive style — often sweeping high off his line — has been key to Arsenal’s dominance.
With Sunderland up next, Raya remains grounded: “You never take these runs for granted. You just stay ready.”
