Reddit Overtakes TikTok in the UK as Gen Z Fuels Search-Driven Growth

The UK has become Reddit’s second largest market after the United States.
A key driver was a change in Google’s algorithms prioritising forum based content.
A deal allowing Google to train AI models on Reddit content further boosted visibility.
Reddit also has a similar agreement with OpenAI, owner of ChatGPT.
Younger users increasingly seek human opinions on topics like parenting, skincare, and sport.
More than half of Reddit’s UK users are women, with strong engagement in lifestyle focused subreddits.
Despite its growth, confrontational exchanges remain, managed through community rules and user moderation.
