Kylian Mbappé equalled Cristiano Ronaldo’s Real Madrid calendar-year scoring record during a 2-0 win over Sevilla.
He scored a late penalty to reach 59 goals, capping his birthday with a decisive contribution.
Real Madrid led through Jude Bellingham before Sevilla were reduced to ten men.
Thibaut Courtois made vital saves as the hosts protected their advantage.
Real remain second in La Liga, one point behind Barcelona.

In Italy, Juventus revived their title hopes by beating Roma 2-1 in Turin.
The result kept Roma fourth while Juventus closed the gap behind the leading pack.

In Germany, Bayer Leverkusen came from behind to beat RB Leipzig 3-1.
Two quick goals before half-time turned the match and lifted Leverkusen to third.
Leipzig suffered their first home defeat of the season.

Elsewhere, Freiburg edged Wolfsburg 4-3 despite a hat-trick from Dzenan Pejcinovic.
Eintracht Frankfurt drew with Hamburg, while Union Berlin claimed a late win over Cologne.
