A power outage left tens of thousands of homes without electricity in Paris and Hauts-de-Seine on Thursday morning.
French media reported that the blackout initially affected 55,000 households before dropping to a few thousand.
Traffic lights and streetlights went dark, and metro and suburban train services came to a temporary stop.
Commuters and residents faced delays and disruptions as the outage spread across multiple neighborhoods.

Technical Glitch Causes Blackout

Enedis confirmed that the outage lasted about five minutes, though some homes still lack power.
The operator traced the failure to a technical incident at the RTE substation in Issy-les-Moulineaux.
RTE oversees France’s high-voltage electricity network and manages transmission across major regions.
Repair teams responded immediately to restore power and investigate the cause of the incident.

Restoration and Apologies

Enedis apologized to residents for the inconvenience caused by the sudden blackout.
Engineers continue work to restore electricity fully to the remaining affected homes.
Authorities advised residents to exercise caution while traffic lights and transportation return to normal.
Officials expect the electricity network to stabilize once crews complete repairs at the substation.
