Tottenham Hotspur defender Destiny Udogie has been revealed as the Premier League footballer allegedly threatened at gunpoint by an agent in north London last September.
The incident reportedly occurred late on 6 September in Cockfosters, Barnet, while Udogie was out with a friend during the international break. Police were called after the suspect allegedly brandished a firearm and made threats. The man, aged 31, was arrested two days later on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, blackmail, and driving without a licence. He has since been bailed as investigations continue.
Udogie was unharmed and returned to action a week later in Tottenham’s 3–1 win over West Ham, coming off the bench. Spurs confirmed they have been supporting the defender and his family since the incident, but declined further comment due to the ongoing legal process.
The Metropolitan Police said no injuries were reported, and the investigation remains open. There is no suggestion that the man involved is Udogie’s agent.
