Guéhi’s Late Header Lifts Crystal Palace to Fourth in Dramatic Win Over Fulham

Marc Guéhi struck a decisive late header to earn Crystal Palace a 2-1 victory over Fulham, sending Oliver Glasner’s side into the Premier League’s top four and handing Marco Silva yet another painful defeat to the London rivals.

Eddie Nketiah opened the scoring for Palace on his first league start of the season, finishing clinically after excellent build-up play from Adam Wharton and Tyrick Mitchell. Fulham responded through a stunning outside-of-the-boot strike from Harry Wilson, whose goal levelled the match and shifted momentum briefly towards the hosts.

Fulham pushed for a winner, even striking the post through Calvin Bassey before an Emile Smith Rowe effort was ruled out for offside in the build-up. But Palace, well-organised despite missing the influential Daniel Muñoz, grew stronger as the game wore on.

With time running out, Guéhi rose at the near post to meet a corner and headed home the winner, sparking wild celebrations among the travelling supporters. The late goal secured Palace’s ninth win under Glasner this season, an impressive feat considering their gruelling fixture schedule.

Silva lamented missed chances and a lack of cutting edge, warning that Fulham must be more resilient to avoid slipping down the table. Palace, meanwhile, continue to thrive under Glasner, who joked about sitting fourth in December but praised his squad’s spirit.

“We’ve got to recover and go again – we’ve got no choice,” Guéhi said, reflecting on the demanding run of fixtures ahead.

Palace leave west London with momentum, belief, and a growing sense that something special could be unfolding at Selhurst Park.
